On the Table- Soldiers of Fortune, Legion, Bushido and Monsterpocalypse

 Hi all! Quite a while since my last update and I've been up to a lot again in terms of hobby, getting a lot of things finished. Gaming-wise I've been almost exclusively playing Batman and getting into Bushido lately which is reflected a bit in what I'm painting, but I'm also jumping around a bit and trying to finish collections as much as possible. 

For Bushido I already had most of the Kage Kaze faction painted, and now I have 3 more options finished that I expect to get a lot of use out of. The only one I don't own now is Axiam, and adding Dudiko and Karapan are going to be a huge boon in terms of list building options. 

I almost had my Star Wars collections painted as well, with just a single ATRT for my Rebels and a few bits and pieces for my Republic. These are now all done, so both armies are all fully painted. More of them can be seen over on my Instagram 

With the recent Godzilla vs Kong movie, Monsterpocalypse looked really appealing so I started to paint up the Empire of the Apes that I had picked up. King Kondo is my favourite sculpt in the range and I loved painting him, but General Hondo is also really nice to paint and I'm looking forward to getting into the rest of the ape units as well. 

Last but definitely not least, the Soldiers of Fortune. Something I've talked about before on the blog from a tactics perspective, I really loved the idea of playing a Scarecrow crew and the fact Bane was in there as well just sold me on it. I've had a really great time playing Scarecrow and the Soldiers deck I love a lot, plus the models are really nice and I enjoy using them every time. 

With that it's everything I've finished the last couple of months, and now I'm working on finally finishing my Goblin team for Blood Bowl and then finishing the rest of the Monsterpocalypse stuff I own. 

On the Table- Ten Thunders and Rebels

 Hi all! It's been quite a while and I thought I'd jump back in with what I've been working on and using in games over the last couple of months. 

My first big project was a lot of basing for Malifaux to finish off keywords I had half done before. Many of these I showed off before in my various posts on Malifaux and I now have Bandit, Mercenary, Plague, Obliteration, Freikorps, Tormented, Last Blossom and most recently Wastrel completed. Over the last few weeks I've also painted and been working out the Honeypot keyword in my games which has been great fun as I play around with Ten Thunders a lot more. I'm working now on finishing painting the Foundry I own for a 4th Thunders crew and the Infamous keyword to round out my Outcasts (and get a 2nd Bayou crew) while I wait for Void Hunters and to see the Explorer's Society in full which I'm very excited for. 

I've also been working on getting my Rebels done for Star Wars Legion and other than bases, they are now finished awaiting Lando and Mandalorians in the future. I only need to paint R2D2 and C3PO to finish the lists I have to try and then I'll be moving onto Republic. 

On the Table- Isolation Blues

Like a lot of people in this tough time, I've been isolating at home for the past few weeks. While it's meant I can work on putting out blog content and hobby, it's also meant that gaming has completely ceased for the foreseeable future and a lot of things I had planned to work on (primarily battle reports) are simply not possible. I have however made the most of the enforced hobby time and at least have something to show for it, making a dent in my backlog and continuing to power forward and keep my spirits up!

First of all, I've been working through some stuff for Star Wars Legion. Since my early childhood I've loved Star Wars and especially the Rebellion, so I finally decided to jump in and get some Legion stuff to work on an army. Luke was painted a few months back, but over the last fortnight I've finished Chewbacca, Han Solo and a unit of Rebel Troopers as well to kickstart the army and get it closer to fully painted.

Next up I've been working on Warcry. I painted up my Chimera a few weeks ago and now I've been working on an actual warband, with the Untamed Beasts being the one I've chosen to play primarily as I love their models. I'm planning on writing a bit of Warcry content in the near future so stay tuned on that front!

More recently I've pulled out a few odds and ends for Malifaux to try and get through some of the half-painted keywords I have. The Desperate Mercenaries are the last of what I need painted for the Mercenary keyword and next up I have 2 Freikorps Engineers which are half of the Freikorps models I need to paint (the other 2 being Hannah and Arik, both of which are in the next planned Malifaux batch)

To finish, what I'm working on at the moment. The last few pieces of my Blood Bowl Skaven team are also being worked on, but now that the 7s league I was playing in has been indefinitely delayed its taken the wind out of my sails a bit there. I still very much want to get them done, but I'm not finding myself getting motivated to do it as much as other things and as such they're still in a state where they need a lot of work to be finished. I've got the previously mentioned Freikorps Engineers and an AT-RT for Legion on the desk as well both nearly complete, aiming to get them done over the next couple nights so I can start painting other things.

In general we are all living in some strange and difficult times, but it is the perfect time to band together and support who we can however we can. I've been having a few group calls lately while painting to keep my sanity and get things done, and it's a really great way of keeping up the sense of community while being stuck at home so I would really recommend it in any way you can. Another thing I have been looking into a lot over the past few days is the Vassal system to play games virtually, mainly Arena Rex and Malifaux so I can do some rudimentary battle reports and keep gaming, but I'm also looking at Tabletop Simulator for Batman games so that's a possibility in the future.
